Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1 in the third-place match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with defender Joško Gvardiol knocking in a straight-on header to give Croatia the early lead.

Morocco evened up the score at one apiece when defender Achraf Dari knocked in a header. Croatia then took the lead back when midfielder Luka Modrić got off a reasonable shot, and forward Mislav Oršić smacked in a score on the right side of the net.

However, Croatia held onto the lead, and Morocco had a last-ditch header attempt go a little north of the net, which would be the game's final shot.

The team qualified for their second World Cup in history, they're first since 1998. The team has been drawn into Group C alongside Spain, France, and Portugal. Morocco's key players include Sofiane Boufal, Yassine Bounou, Hakim Ziyech, and Achraf Hakimi.
