Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai, has given the primary word – ‘dignity’– to an AI algorithm that will produce a ‘Collective Message’ at the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020.
In an idea motivated by Stephen Hawking, guests to the UK Pavilion will be welcome to give a word they feel describes humanity or life on Earth. Progressed AI technology will utilize these words to produce 15,000 poetic couplets from more than 100 british poets, that will consolidate to make a Collective Message projected on the UK Pavilion’s staggering cone-shaped construction from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. UK Pavilion’s theme, Innovating for a Shared Future, the interactive poetry installation will explore whether a computer program can express the complex nature of humanity through verse. In that respect, HE’s choice is the first of many words that will make the important message from mankind to one more civilization as the UK Pavilion opens at Expo 2020 Dubai.
