Singapore, an island nation country, is situated between western Indonesia and peninsular Malaysia. It is also a sovereign state in Southeast Asia, which founded as a British trading colony in 1819. In 1963, it joined with Malaysian Federation; due to violation & difference between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples after two years, it came out of Malaysian Federation. From 1959 to 1990, the development of Singapore was contributed by its First Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, and he is called the Father of Nation. Due to its small size and irrelevant natural resource, Singapore mainly concentrates on developing quality infrastructure and skilled labor force. Its economy mainly focuses on providing financial and other services with the hi-tech manufacturing sector rather than trade. Singapore has a unicameral legislature, and it is characterized by dominant-party rule from Independence. The citizens of Singapore called Singaporeans. They are indigenous Malays and ethnic groups of Indians and Chinese. About 38.4% are permanent residents who have their own houses. Due to land scarcity, 78.7% of residents lived in public housing apartments. The immigration of foreign workers increases the population of Singapore. 

Land

With a total land area of 725.7 square kilometers, country shares its maritime border with Batam, Karimun archipelago, Johor state, Sumatra, and Borneo. Singapore is composed of one main island (Pulau Ujong) and 63 islets. Due to land reclamation, the land area extended from 581.5 km2 to 721.5 km2.

Overall population of Singapore Country has reached 5.70 million in 2019 with 1.2% growth while compared to last year. The population density is 7,866 people per square kilometer. The median age is 41.1 years and the sex ratio is 957 males per 1000 females.

Religion

The main religion of Singapore was Buddhism, where three forms of Buddhism, namely Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana, are followed in the country. Except Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Taoism are other religions followed in the country. The Chinese people are the majority of Buddhists in Singapore.

Language

After independence from Britain in the 1960s, Malay is the national language by the Singaporean Government. On the other hand, it has four official languages, namely English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil.

Economy

The Country has a highly developed market economy, and it ranks second in the world for its free economy. Singapore is a port city highly involved in trading activities and is the 14th largest exporter and 15th largest importer in the world. Its skilled workforce, low tax rates, development infrastructure, and hi-tech technologies highly attract foreign investment. On education, healthcare, home-ownership rate, and quality of life, it is in the toppers list. Singapore Country contains a large number of Multinational Corporation which is from Japan, the United States, and Europe. It is the only country in Asia having an AAA credit. Aside from the industrial sectors, its economy is also dependent on the tourist industry. As of 2019 estimate, the GDP (nominal) is $372.807 billion. The HDI value of 0.935 in 2018 represents a very high human development category and ranks 9th among 189 countries.
