India is the World’s largest Democratic country, holding the second-most populous country in the world next to China. About 55,000 years ago, Homo sapiens were the humans who arrived at the Indian Continent from Africa. Initially, hunting was their primary lifestyle; following the years, there will be a lot of changes observed in their genetic system. About 9000 years ago, some settlements found on the western margins of the Indus river basin, and they slowly emerged as Indus Valley Civilisation in the 3rd millennium BCE. The Maurya and Gupta Empires arose on the Ganges river basin early politics. The Middle Kingdoms of South Asia spreads Dravidian languages and religious cultures to the kingdoms of South Asia. Armed forces from Central Asia established as Delhi Sultanate, and they brought North India into the networks of medieval Islam. 

The Country of India saw two centuries of peace and fantastic architecture during the Mughal Empire rule in 1596. The British East India Company rule in India began in ‎1757–1858, after the Revolt of 1857, East Indian company rule assigned to the Crown in the person of Queen Victoria. Freedom Struggle Movements made a prolonged struggle for more than 90 years, led to gains its independence from the British in 1947. India’s capital city Delhi is the most populous and holds the seats of three branches of Government. India does not consider ethnic groups primarily, but their society is separated into Caste and Clans, On the other side, language-wise ethnic groups are identified as Indo-Aryan, Dravidian, and Iranic People.

It has a total land area of 3.287 million square kilometers, shares its land border with Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. The Indian Ocean surrounds India’s southern part, and the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal bounded its southwest and southeast. Andaman and Nicobar islands at the meeting point of Bay of Bengal shares its coastal borders with Thailand and Indonesia. Sri Lanka and the Maldives are the island nation adjacent to the southern part of India. Peninsular India is the most stable part that runs from Satpura in the North, and Vindhya in Central India and its parallel chain runs from the Arabian Sea coast in the west and Chota Nagpur Plateau in the east. The south of peninsular India was the Deccan Plateau bounded by coastal borders as Western and Eastern Ghats.

Second-most populous country in the world, with 1.353 billion populations in 2018 by World Bank Data. It has an annual population growth of 1%. The life expectancy of at birth of the total population was 69 years. Mumbai is the largest metropolitan city of India, having the highest population next to Delhi. The life expectancy of a male is 68.4 years and female is 71.2 years. The median age is 28.7 years. The net migration rate of India in 2020 is -0.369 per 1000 population.


The Country’s major religion is Hinduism. During the Medieval Era – Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism arose on the southern and western coasts of India. Saint Thomas Christians first emerged in 52AD in the Malabar Coast of Kerala. According to the 2011 Census, Hinduism in India is 79.8%, Islam is 14.2%, Christianity 2.3%, Sikhism 1.7%, other religions, and Unspecified 2%.

Indo-Aryan spoken by 78.05% and Dravidian by 19.64% of people are the two primary language families of India. The official language of India is Hindi, but English is considered as the official language in business and administration. Other than Hindi and English, India recognized 22 languages as official languages.


A multilingual and multiethnic society of India has a fast-growing economy. Today it has turned into an excellent hub for Information Technology service. India’s GDP in 2018, with 2.719 trillion, stands at sixth-largest in the world. India is one of five Nuclear Weapon States; its military expense was US$57 billion in 2019, according to the Union Minister for Finance. The service sectors, industrial sectors, and agricultural sectors are the main contributors to the Indian economy. It has the major industrial sectors as telecommunication, software, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, automotive, machinery, petroleum, textiles, and mining. In 2011, Indian IT Industry offered a job for 2.8 million peoples and generated revenue of 7.5% of India’s GDP. Being the 10th largest importer and 19th largest exporter in the world. Today, the unemployment rate in India increased to 7.8%. 

Health Care System

In 1983, the National Health policy was recognized by the Parliament of India and recently updated in 2017, to accomplish the vision of Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals. These recent updates are focusing on the growth of the non-communicable disease, robust healthcare industry, healthcare costs, and improving financial growth.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is the most massive health care scheme in the world launched in 2018 by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi to a health cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. The expenses shared between Central and State Governments. It provides free medical treatment for up to 5 lakh for a backward population of the second and third categories. The health budget for 2019-2020 is around 63,000 crore, which stands a new milestone in the last two financial years.


According to World Bank Statistics in 2017, India’s health care expenditure lies below the poorest countries in the world, which spends 3.535% of its GDP on health, where the average percentage for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries is 8.8% in 2018. These factors place India next to Iraq and Venezuela.  According to the World Bank Report in 2018, India has the Fertility rate, total (2.2 births per woman), Mortality rate under age 5 (37 per 1000 live births), and birth attended by skilled health staff was 81%.
