- Indian Cinema → Dec, 28/ 1895 → Lumpier brothers, Auguste & Louis demonstrated their invention of cinematography.
- “Alaudin and the Lamp” → Ist imported film from the East.
- Ist Indian Silent Feature flim was “pundalik” , had been half int British technicians made. (1912)
- Later one year May, 12, 1913, Harish Chandra Raja was the indigenous Ist feature film of our own. directed by Dhadasaheb Palke. (Father of Indian Cinema).
- R. Nataraja Mudaliar who produced the Ist South Indian film named keecha vadhom (1919)
- In 1918 Indian cinematography law passed for preceding the licensing of cinema halls and censorship of indigenous and foreign films. Later censor board was established too in 1919.
- At the end of 1930, silent film era was overtaken by “talkie era”, Ist in South India , Tamil (Kalidas), Telugu (Bhakta prahlad).

- 1960’s → Glamour.
- 1970’s → Revenge and Action.
- 1980’s → Musical Love.
- 1990’s → Romantic thriller.
- In 1970’s the first form & Stereographic film Sholay ran for over 5 years.
