The great film director and cinematographer K V Anand passed away early morning on Friday at a private hospital in Chennai due to a sudden heart attack. The news has shocked celebrities and fans alike.

He was introduced as a cinematographer in Tamil cinema; he also worked as a cinematographer for Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and multiple language movies. Anand won the National Award for Best Cinematography for his first movie as cinematographer, Thenmavin Kombath, a Malayalam movie released in 2005.
